She tells Kurt later that night. Of course she does. He's her best friend and she's been trying to work out this...thing with Noah since it started Sophomore year, in between Finn and Jesse. And he's happy for her, which is great. It's just...he's a little too happy. A little too loud.

And guess who he lives with?

She's at her locker the next day (she hasn't seen Noah yet. She hasn't looked. She knows he's usually late and she's painfully punctual, so it's pretty much a moot point.) She's not expecting Finn to approach her. And she's definitely not expecting to hear "Puck? Puck? Are you kidding me?"

"I'm not sure how it's any of your business, Finn."

"He’s bad for you."
 
"You don’t know what’s bad for me, do you?"
 
"C’mon, Rachel, I know you better than anyone."
 
"So you kept hurting me on purpose, then?"
 
"Rach-"
 
"No, Finn, stop. I won’t-…even if I wasn’t trying this...thing with Noah-"
 
"Rachel, wake up! He only wants what he can’t have!"
 
"And why can’t he have me, Finn? I don’t belong to you.  We're over, okay? We're done. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to make sure I have all of my homework for the day."

"You know you do, Rachel. Come on, we need to talk about this..."

All Rachel can do is laugh when Hannah looks up at her brother and says: "I went."

"You've been spending far too much tie with your brother!" Rachel laughs, handing her her slushie and receiving a hug for the effort. "Thank you, Rachel! Are you still going to braid my hair?"

"Of course. But homework first, in you go." She waves her towards the house and Hannah pouts, but goes, heading up the stairs of the porch and into the house. Rachel waits until she's gone to turn and slap playfully at Noah's chest. "It's a good thing you started dating me in her prime developmental years or else she'd just be a female version of you."

Puck nods proudly at Hannah's answer, it sounding exactly like something he'd say.

"Ow," he pouts at Rachel once his sister's gone and she whacks his chest, pretending the action hurt when it hadn't. "What would be wrong with a female version of me?"

Everything.

"Besides the obvious, with you being slightly chauvinistic and skipping school like it's a sport?" She raises an eyebrow. "What are you going to do tomorrow night?" She knows Tuesdays are his days to see Beth and she doesn't say it to cut, but she does say it to say that Hannah's got a lot of mistakes to learn from.

"I went to all my classes today," Puck points out to her, but he'd only attended them to keep an eye on Finn throughout the day. If skipping class was an olympic sport, he'd be the world champion at it.

"I was actually wondering if you wanted to babysit Beth with me," Puck asks her, glad she brought up tomorrow night. "Shelby won't be there... Neither will Quinn because she's been acting crazy lately so I asked Shelby if we could have separate days to see her." Maybe it'd be too weird for her but he wanted her there.

"I noticed." She nods. "I'm very proud of you, just so you know. You should totally keep doing that. It's not too late to start applying for colleges."

He...wants her to come see Beth. She opens her mouth, then closes it. "Noah, do you really-...are you sure that's a good idea? I'm not very experienced with...infants."

"Let's not get ahead of ourselves, babe." He's a long way away from thinking he's good enough for any college, let alone wanting to go.

"You don't have to do anything except be there. I'll handle everything." He's become pretty confident looking after Beth now. Not that he could handle looking after her 24/7, but Beth loves him, doesn't cry in his arms like she does when Quinn holds her (which is frankly worrying), and he knows exactly what to do to make Beth stop crying if she starts, which is sing.

"Considering that it's prime application time, Noah, I think I'm exactly where I need to be." She takes a sip of her slushie, leaning her temple against his shoulder as they enter the house. "Don't think you're getting out of homework either, Mister. We're all going to sit down together."

"I-...you're sure, Noah?" Because asking her to meet his daughter is a big deal and they just started dating yesterday. Not that they weren't friends before. Right? Wait. Oh god, they were.

"But I don't wanna," Puck responds childishly to homework. "It's boring. Can't we make out instead?"

He only wants Rachel to be a part of it if she's comfortable with the idea. "You don't have to if you don't want to. I guess it's a pretty big step..." His first proper relationship and he was already asking Rachel to meet his kid on their second day of going out. But just like Shelby wanted share the moments Beth did something amazing with someone, so did Puck, and he wanted to share those moments with Rachel.

"Homework. And then I'm going to braid Hannah's hair. And then we can make out after your mother gets home." Because someone has to be around to watch Hannah, duh.

"Of course I want to, Noah." Remember, she's the one who was totally on your side about keeping Beth. "I just don't want you to feel like it's something you have to do because we're dating..." She unzips her bookbag, putting her things on the table across from where Hannah's reading The Tale of Desperaux. "I saw the pictures on Shelby's desk, though...she's gorgeous. Hannah, is that homework?"

The 8 year old blushes and puts the book away, pulling out her math notebook.

Hannah just makes a face when she overhears them discussing when exactly they'll be making out. Gross...

"I don't do anything I don't want to. You should know that," Puck reminds her, getting out his books too. Not that he reads them, just takes them to and from school. "Of course she's gorgeous. Look how hot her dad is." He waggles his eyebrows at her.

It's cool! We can share the Mom.

Rachel just rolls her eyes and pulls out her own books, taking a seat and pointing at the chair next to her. "Homework first. We'll talk about plans afterwards."

This is actually better than doing homework alone at home, she decides. Hannah asks a lot of questions, but she picks up on things quickly and Rachel's more than willing to help. And trying to corral Noah is just funny. 30 minutes in, she's threatened to cancel make outs 3 times.

"My lord." Abigail Puckerman just kind of stands in the doorway, watching her son, daughter and...is that a pretty Jewish girl?! It is! It's her favorite pretty Jewish girl! "Rachel! How are you, sweetheart?" She kisses the top of her head, then Hannah's, scratching a hand over Noah's shaved head.

"I'm doing wonderfully, Mrs. Puckerman, thank you!"

Puck spends more time watching Rachel interact with his sister more than he does on his homework. She's really good with her, which makes him think she'll be awesome with Beth. She's also good with his mom who adores her.

Hell yes, Puck thinks when Mrs. Puckerman finally comes home. Homework time is over. Let the making out begin. But he'll introduce Rachel first, though they've met before, but he'll introduce her properly.

"Mom... this is my girlfriend." Never have those words been uttered in the Puckerman household before.

This is the first time Rachel's heard him say it too, so she grins and kisses his cheek before turning back to working with Hannah on a word problem.

Abigail grins, and Noah can probably recognize her "I'm going to be squishing you and crying and asking about Grandbabies in T minus 10 seconds" look, though she refrains from asking when Rachel's in the room.

Rach shuts her books and sticks them in her bag before holding out her hands for Noah's homework. If he thinks he's gonna get away with her not checking it, he's sorely mistaken.

Puck recognizes that look in his mother's eyes and rolls his eyes fondly at her. Don't get ahead of yourself, Mrs. Puckerman. One baby is quite enough for Puck to handle at the moment.

Rachel seriously reminds him of a teacher sometimes as he holds out his homework for her to take. "All done, Miss Berry."

She checks to make sure he didn't just write down random things to get her off of his back, sliding it back over to him once she's satisfied. "Just making sure."

"Are you going to stay for dinner, dear?" His mom asks as she starts to pull things out of the fridge.

"I don't know. Am I staying for dinner, Noah?"

"Sure, if you want." Like Puck is going to say no to her staying. She's practically one of the family now.

"If I get started now, dinner should be ready in half an hour," Puck's mom tells them.

"Awesome." Puck tugs on Rachel's hand. "Let's go upstairs..."

"But I thought you were going to braid my hair," Hannah says to Rachel, looking disappointed.

"Of course I am, Hannah. Come on, let's move into the living room." Rachel kisses Puck's temple before she leaves the kitchen with Hannah. You knew this was the deal, Puckerman.

"So. When did this start?" Abigail asks as she chops vegetables for dinner. Her back is to Puck but he can probably hear the smile in her voice.

Puck sighs after Rachel leaves and is helping himself to a drink when his mom gets all nosy.

"Yesterday... Do you want a hand?" he asks his mom if she wants help in the kitchen for the first time ever.

Abigail just blinks at her son, a slow smile spreading across her face. "No, sweetheart, I've got it. Go make sure your sister doesn't drive Rachel away."

Yeah, 'cept they're both singing A Girl Worth Fighting For so it's safe to say that Rachel's pretty okay right now.

Puck thinks the only person he has to worry about driving Rachel away is himself. Not on purpose of course, but naturally he worries he'll do something stupid to fuck things up and drive Rachel away from him.

"Dorks," he chuckles amusedly when he walks in on them singing. He makes himself comfortable on the couch as he watches Rachel put Hannah's hair into perfect braids.

"Oh hush up, Puckerman." Rachel sticks her tongue out at him, finishing up Hannah's french braid, tying an elastic around the end. "All done, Han." She pats the top of her head, letting her move from where she's sitting between her legs.

Unfortunately in the time it takes for Rachel to finish Hannah's hair, Puck has somehow managed to fall asleep on the couch. Homework takes a lot out of him, okay?

"We should draw on his face," Hannah whispers to Rachel with a giggle.

"That's not nice, Hannah. I happen to like his face just the way it is." She shakes her head, trying not to let her see the smile she's hiding. "Why don't we watch tv while your Mom finishes dinner?"

"That's because you're his girlfriend," Hannah pulls a face at her as she switches on the television and puts on cartoons. The volume is on low so they don't wake the sleeping Puckzilla.

"I wish you lived here... You're so much nicer than Quinn."

Quinn had been understandably moody whilst living with them because she was pregnant, which meant she was allowed to be.

"I try to be." Rachel replies before she really thinks about it. "But. That doesn't mean you should talk about people. That's not very nice. Quinn was pregnant and sometimes that makes ladies moody." She corrects. "And anyway, I live with my Dads. Very happily."
