Hola, Mi Corazon
Saturdays are fabulous. Santana doesn't work, Chicago rehearsals are only 4 hours every other weekend and everyone gets to sleep in. Like they're doing now. Rachel's being the little spoon right now, laying on her belly with her side tucked up Santana, the Latina's arm across her back as they sleep. She's just about to take a giant bite out of the marshmallow Empire State Building when some static wakes her up.
"Ma ma ma ma ma pffft..." The babbling coming from the baby monitor makes her smile even if it is only 9am. Trying not to wake Santana, she reaches out and switches the monitor off before she slides out of bed and enters the nursery.
10-month old Ari is standing up in his crib, pitch black hair sticking out all over his head and grinning just like his mother. When Rachel enters the room, he squeals and reaches out for her and she picks him up, tugging the shirt of his football pjs over his belly and kissing his forehead. "Buenos dias!" Rachel took French in high school and college, but she's picking up on Spanish through living with Santana. They're trying to teach Ari all three.

Still, she stays in bed for a few moments, until she hears Rachel padding down the stairs with Ari babbling away in her arms. This, she thinks, is the definition of domestic bliss. She has never been more content with her life - she has the perfect little family.
She slips into her robe, strewn over the armchair beside the bed, and runs a hand through her messy hair. Years ago, she would have taken the time to make herself perfect before going down to say good morning to her partner, but she's comfortable now, knowing that Rachel will think she's beautiful no matter what.
She walks into the kitchen as Rachel is settling Ari into his high chair. "Bonjour!" she greets her son, ruffling his hair with a big grin. She's the native Spanish speaker around here, but she's picked up French over the years too, from Kurt and Rachel, and since Rachel expects their son to be trilingual, she contributes wherever she can. She crosses over to kiss Rachel, whispering, "Good morning," against her lips, before she crosses over to get their morning coffee brewing.

Rachel too, is past the point of trying to get dressed or be cute before noon most days, unless she has somewhere to go. She's still wearing her polka dotted Sofees and one of Santana's t-shirts when she sees Santana's hand come down over Ari's head. He squeals, reaching up to pull her fingers into his mouth but she's gone before he can succeed or Rachel can reach over to stop him.
"Morning." She smiles back against her girlfriend's lips, watching her walk across the kitchen to start the coffee. As much as Santana complained about her pregnancy weight gain, it's all gone now. Besides her hips. They widened just a little and though there's no fat left, they're still there and Rachel would be a liar and a half if she ever tried to pretend she didn't just love Santana's body more each day.
"How'd you sleep?" Rachel asks, moving to the pantry to pull out some oatmeal for the baby. Of course, she's asking Santana, but Ari answers, slapping his hand against his high chair and going off onto a tirade.

Before Santana can even try to answer Rachel's question, Ari answers for her, and boy, he just goes and goes. "Well, sounds like someone here had a good night's sleep," she laughs, pressing brew on the coffee maker and crossing over to the kitchen table to sit and wait. "And I slept fine, later than I'd though. Nine o'clock must be some kind of sleeping in record."

Putting some milk on the stove to heat, Rachel starts chopping up some fruit, both for Ari's oatmeal and for her own fruit salad. "What do you want for breakfast, San?"

"That's my boy," she cheers him on. She holds up her other hand. "High five?" They've practiced this many times, and he just lets out a thrilled little coo. He loves when his mommies play with him like this - which is, pretty much, all the time - and he smacks Santana's hand with enthusiasm.

Not that Rachel cares how weird it is, because Santana's a fabulous mother. After fixing up Ari's oatmeal and sprinkling some sugar over it and her and Santana's fruit salads, she carries everyone's food to the table, sitting Santana's in front of her and moving to sit close enough to feed Ari.

Santana eats a bit of her salad, watching Rachel feed their son. She may be mushy about their son, but Rachel is too. Maybe even more so than Santana. Remembering the coffee, Santana gets up to pour herself a cup. "Coffee, babe?" she asks her lover, reaching for Rachel's favorite mug.

"So apparently, apple/banana is a go." Rachel laughs. They've been experimenting with different fruits now while they try to introduce real food into Ari's diet. Even if Rachel's not vegan anymore, a healthy balanced diet is something she tries to cultivate for all of the members of the house.
Sorry for the late tag! Crazy, crazy past few days!
She comes back to the table with two mugs of coffee, setting the blue mug with white music notes scattered all over it in front of her lover.
no worries!
"So. Any plans today?" Of course, Ari answers first, but Rachel was asking her girlfriend.
