Santana doesn't generally sleep in, she's always been an early riser. Since she was a baby herself, she was up at the asscrack of dawn, ready to explore and get into shit. Her son is much the same, and even though her lover tries to be discreet and let Santana sleep, there's no way she'd miss the weight and warmth underneath her arm disappearing. And by no stretch of the imagination is Ari a quiet baby - when he has something to say, the whole world hears it, whether the baby monitor is on or off.
Still, she stays in bed for a few moments, until she hears Rachel padding down the stairs with Ari babbling away in her arms. This, she thinks, is the definition of domestic bliss. She has never been more content with her life - she has the perfect little family.
She slips into her robe, strewn over the armchair beside the bed, and runs a hand through her messy hair. Years ago, she would have taken the time to make herself perfect before going down to say good morning to her partner, but she's comfortable now, knowing that Rachel will think she's beautiful no matter what.
She walks into the kitchen as Rachel is settling Ari into his high chair. "Bonjour!" she greets her son, ruffling his hair with a big grin. She's the native Spanish speaker around here, but she's picked up French over the years too, from Kurt and Rachel, and since Rachel expects their son to be trilingual, she contributes wherever she can. She crosses over to kiss Rachel, whispering, "Good morning," against her lips, before she crosses over to get their morning coffee brewing.
