"A Broadway part, Noah." She grins between kisses. And whether he's aware that that's what she meant before or not, she just feels the need to say it again. "Broadway. I'm gonna be on Broadway..." And there are the tears, then. Adrenaline and happiness and anger too, for all those years where she was just William McKinley High School's trash can. For all the sweaters ruined with slushee dye and all those baby chicks that perished against her hair. All the insults, for her big nose and her horrible fashion sense and for being too loud and too different and too proud of herself for anyone to accept her. Anyone but Noah. Even when they weren't friends, he always put up with her crazy. And the longer they were around each other, the more he, more than anyone else, seemed to realize and embrace the fact that her crazy was a part of her. And in the end, he was the one to save her.

She clings to him tighter, hands fisting in his shirt as she kisses any inch of him that she can reach, laughing through the tears streaming down her face. "Fuck, Noah, we did it. We did it, we finally-..God. I can't-...am I dreaming? Please tell me this is really happening...Spring Awakening, Noah."

You know Spring Awakening, Puck. Rachel knows the songs to all of her favorite musicals by heart, and any music she has stays in a folder in a waterproof box under their bed to conserve space. But there are a few musicals and plays that she loves to just read. Over and over again. Wicked, both the play and novel version, sit on their bookshelf in their living room. Angels in America is there too, and next to that is Rent and Arsenic and Old Lace. But between Wicked and Angels is a well loved, black, white and red paperback. Spring Awakening. It's one of Rachel's favorites and she must've read it 10 times since they moved in.
